I’ve yet to live in a house with a either a dedicated work space or a room for guests to stay. Today’s mood board combines the two: a cosy office / guest room with muted tones of blush pink, blue-grey and mustard.
Cosy Office / Guest Room Mood Board
Bookcase – Furniture Plus // Floral Print – Minted
Camera Print – Minted // Abstract Print – Minted
Lamp – Loaf // Desk – Oka // Chair – Alexander & Pearl
Blanket – Metfine // Sofa Bed – Loaf
Cushion – Etsy // Basket – Oliver Bonas // Rug – Oka
This office / guest room design would fit well in a little English country cottage. The oak bookcase plays double duty – perfect for binders and books, but if you left a drawer or two empty, it would give guests a place to unpack and feel more at home.
The sofa bed is upholstered in blush pink, stain-resistant velvet, so it’ll wear well. Extra blankets and other guest essentials are easily-accessible, stored in a pretty woven basket.
A small-scale zinc-top desk and cane chair wouldn’t eat up much floor space in a small room. Above, an eclectic selection of affordable art prints creates a mini gallery wall, while a deliberately worn wool rug adds pattern and keeps feet cosy. This is a hard-working, multifunctional office / guest room that would be a relaxing place to stay or study.

Love everything about this room. I also really like the bookcase. I like that you can style the shelves with pretty decor, but yet it is practical for guests to store a couple of their items in the drawers.
What a great design Lizzie! I love the idea of creating a guest room with a pull out sofa. After all we only have guests stay at our home 4 or 5 times a year! Mine as well make it a space we can enjoy too!
