This mood board incorporates modern pieces into a rustic living room design to create a layered, inviting space. It’s all about texture, from the shiny brass lamps to the woven basket and rug to the laser-etched hide rug.

I love all the natural elements in this modern rustic living room design, from the etched faux leather rug to the woven basket and recycled wooden planks on the coffee table. Although there’s a lot of brown, it doesn’t feel too woodsy when it’s combined with industrial touches like the black metal finish on the coffee table and mirror.

Vintage cane chairs add another layer to this rustic modern living room design. As I’ve said before, I think every well-designed space should have something old in it.

There are two rugs in the mood board – one large wool one, and a smaller one in etched faux leather. The larger one has a flat enough weave to layer the smaller, more organically shaped one on top. Again, it’s all about the layers!
