The Mood Board Collective is a monthly design “challenge,” where different interiors bloggers take the same inspiration piece and use it to create a room design for any space they want. This month, the starting point was a pretty print of a seagull painting, which I used to create a beachy living room design.
I love the happy colour palette in the painting, and I decided to roll with it. I pulled bright pink, emerald green and yellows from the print to create a bright, fun, layered living room design perfect for a beach house.
Pendant Light – West Elm // Shag Pillow – Chairish
Mustard Pillow – West Elm // Pink Pillow – Chairish
Mirror – Zinc Door // Macrame Planter – Hruskaa on Etsy
Chevron Print – Zatista // Seagull Print – Society 6
Sofa – Ikea // Table – Chairish // Lamp – Chairish
Chair – Chairish // Coffee Table – Anthropologie
Rug – West Elm // Vase – H&M
Chest of Drawers – Maisons du Monde
I used a lot of vintage pieces in this beachy living room design, all thanks to Chairish. To keep the space feeling fresh, I mixed the older pieces with some more modern pieces from high street/online retailers like Ikea and Maisons du Monde.
I’ve used the emerald green sofa before. It’s a statement piece for sure. And the coffee table is pretty killer, right?
