I’m joining a group of interiors bloggers this month for a recurring mood board design challenge. Each go, one of us picks an inspiration photo as a starting point for a mood board. There are no other parameters – the design can go anywhere. Today’s mood board inspiration image has a bright colour palette of tangerine orange and mint.
Emmerson & Fifteenth | Office Mood Board
I created a feminine office space using an eclectic mix of styles, with a few luxurious details, lots of pattern and a little bit of bling.
Bookshelf – Layla Grace // Pendant – Oly Studio
Wallpaper – Laura Ashley // Dresser – Anthropologie
Console – Layla Grace // Lamp – Clayton Grey // Desk – Lamps Plus
Fabric – Caitlin Wilson // Chair – vintage
Rug – Madeline Weinrib // Sofa – Urban Outfitters
I don’t have an office, and won’t any time soon, so I completely indulged myself with this. The limited colour palette keeps everything visually cohesive. It has a ton of storage, so it’s totally functional. And that pendant/chandelier is killer.
Now let’s have a look at everyone else’s take on the same inspiration photo!
The Blissful Bee | Living Room Mood Board
There is no better match than mint and orange! I had so much fun designing my pretend living room that it seriously made me want to add these colors into my own living space.

Carissa Miss | Kitchen Accessories Mood Board
For me this picture just sang kitchen! {Maybe it’s because I have mint and yellow in mine.} I just had to share some of my latest loves for kitchen accessories. I’m hoping to actually get some art up on the walls in my house, so if it is a little art-heavy, that’s why!
After the kids’ rooms are done then I’m planning on finishing the art in our entry-way makeover, and then FINALLY I can get to decorating the rest of the kitchen.

Designer in Teal | Kitchen & Dining Area Mood Board
This is hands down my favorite color combination, and it fits perfectly for a kitchen setting. The sunny yellow and orange pop against the fresh mint. I also gave the kitchen and dining area a vintage industrial spin. Can’t wait to add this into my “dream home” plan!

The House of Grey | Bedroom Mood Board
These colors inspired me to create a restful guest room mood board. I love the idea of mismatched nightstands – updating an old curvy dresser in fresh mint for one side and a more masculine grey desk for the other side. I would use lots of white to keep things fresh & raw wood to bring nature in. Add in some fun colorful art & a whimsical bronze rhino for a guest room that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
